About us
What do we do?
Dr. Diamond provides comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of each patient’s mouth. Patients are provided basic background information on the major aspects of oral health, including the gums, teeth, bite, and smile. Dr. Diamond’s goal is to guide each patient towards a treatment and/or maintenance plan that allows them to achieve and maintain the highest level of oral health possible, within the context of each person’s individual needs, limitations, and priorities.
What’s most important to us?
Lasting Relationships
We are proud that our practice is a long-standing fixture in downtown Los Altos, caring for patients at this location since Dr. Leonard McBirney opened the practice in 1960. Our mission is to build strong, lasting relationships through kindness, integrity, and genuine personal connection. We value people and community, and this is our biggest motivator to provide thorough, straightforward, and personalized dental care. We are gentle, attentive, and embrace of our role as healers.
Communication
We believe that clear and effective communication is key to successful diagnosis, treatment, and overall patient experience. We will actively listen to your concerns and questions. Dr. Diamond will provide his expertise and recommendations, hoping to empower you to make decisions regarding your own oral health. We will be transparent about the risks, benefits, and alternatives to treatment, and you will not be pressured. When performing procedures, the doctor, assistant, and patient must collaborate to achieve excellent clinical results, and communication plays an important role in this process.
Technology
We make use of the most up-to-date, proven technology to ensure thorough diagnosis and patient education, and then to provide the best, most predictable treatment available. Examples include digital clinical imaging (X-rays, intraoral cameras), Intraoral scanners, artificial intelligence software, digital smile design, DIAGNOdent caries detection, Isolite suction devices, soft tissue lasers, and state-of-the-art materials for restoration of teeth and implants. Modern technology allows thorough diagnosis, contributes to your comfort and quick recovery, and helps ensure the quality and longevity of the work we do for you.
Quality of Execution
Our dedication to quality is not just in what we do, but in how consistently and thoughtfully we do it—every patient, every visit. Providing reliably positive experiences and predictable clinical outcomes requires constant energy, attention and vigilance. Our team takes this commitment very seriously. We prepare for each day by reviewing each patient’s chart in advance, and discussing pertinent personal and clinical details to provide continuity of care. We carefully plan each appointment and review the plan with the patient before performing any procedure. We follow protocols with meticulous attention to detail, and simultaneously adapt our delivery of care to fit each patient’s unique clinical situation. Quality execution also means taking the time to do things right, even when it’s inconvenient. Every detail—from diagnostics and sterilization to follow-up care—is handled with care and professionalism.
